Anyone who has been to a local, state, or national park understands the important role of a Park Ranger and this year, Dearborn’s own Geer Park Elementary has their own special Park Rangers.
The Geer Park Rangers are students in grades 2 through 5 that are responsible for the school’s recycling program and are called upon for a variety of other activities such as greeters, ushers, and helping with younger students.
“This program is just one of the ways we are helping our students become leaders and create a culture of success in our school. I know our Rangers will be excellent ambassadors for Geer Park,” commented Geer Park Principal Ms. Lamis Srour.
Veteran teacher and Instructional Coach Ms. Mary Timpf oversees the program and meets with the students once a month to work on leadership skills based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Happy Kids.
