Across the District, students have been jumping rope and hosting other activities to raise awareness of hearth health and raise funds for the American Heart Association. For example, at Lindbergh Elementary, students, families, and teachers raised over $9,500 for the American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart in February. The students practiced the 7 Habits of Leader in Me such as “Synergize together”, plan with “Begin with the End in Mind”, being “Proactive”, and understand that everyone “Win-Wins” with donating time and money to help fight Heart Disease. Students learned the important ways of maintaining a healthy heart while “Sharpening the Saw” during Physical Education class and being physically active at home with family.
