Want to have some simple cooking fun with your child?
What about participating in the Michigan Easy Bake Off on Feb. 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Dearborn High?
That’s right – a whole baking competition with goodies derived from a child’s Easy Bake Oven.
The Bake Off is just one of many winter offerings from the District’s Adult and Community Education Department. Adult and kid classes are available for swimming, exercise, crafts, sports, digital photography and more. Check out the complete class listing, or sign up for the Bake Off, at www.dearbornCEonline.org.
For the Bake Off, each team will include a student and parent or guardian. They will prepare their own cake batter and frosting using the provided supplies. Participants will have one hour to create their culinary masterpiece and present it to the judges. The winner will receive a first place ribbon and represent Dearborn Public Schools in the final Bake Off in Ypsilanti on March 14 at 6 p.m.
Provided ingredients include cake mixes, eggs, frosting, food coloring, cooking pans, cake sheet, spray oil, and utensils, excluding cooking mitts or gloves and bottled water.
Participants provide the ideas and the fun!
