Help needed in our kitchens

Dearborn Public School students will see more made-from-scratch meals this fall, but that means we need more help in our kitchens!

The district is looking to hire at least 15 additional food service employees in the coming days as it prepares to switch over to a new menu.  (More details on that on coming soon.)

Training in the new cooking style will be provided soon to all our food service employees – new and returning – adding some urgency to filling positions as quickly as possible.

Anyone interested in one of the food service positions is encouraged to contact our Food Service Director Jeff Murphy at 313-827-3016 or stop by the Administration Service Center, room 22, Monday through Friday between 1 and 3 p.m. ASC is at 18700 Audette St., Dearborn.

Applications can be submitted online through the job portal on the District website.

Food service workers are only one category of support employee the district is looking to fill as the school year gears up.  Bus drivers, secretarial staff, custodians, child care, classroom aides, and more are needed to work as regular employees and substitutes.
