Superintendent’s Honors Night recognizes top students, their selected staff

Congratulations to the 195 students invited to Superintendent’s Honors Night this year and to the outstanding staff those students recognized at the event.

The 38th annual Superintendent’s Honors Night was held on May 10, 2023 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center.

Students invited to the event are in their last year of school with the district – 12th grade for those from Fordson, Dearborn or Edsel Ford high schools or 13th grade for those in one of the Henry Ford Early College programs. The students also had a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or higher at the end of last semester. Academically, these students represent the top 12 percent of their graduating class.

Dearborn Public Schools uses a 4 point grading scale, but grades are weighted so students can earn an extra point for college level classes, either Advanced Placement courses at their high school or dual enrollment classes at Henry Ford College.

Each student who participated in the ceremony was asked to invite a teacher, administrator, parapro, counselor, coach or other district employee who contributed to their success. The students then came to the stage to thank that staff member during the ceremony.

For the names of students and the staff they honored, please see the 2023 Honors Night Program. You can also view a video of the event on our YouTube channel.

Congratulations again to all those involved!
