Care to the Core returns Oct. 16

Care to the Core returns to Dearborn Public Schools on Oct. 16, 2024 and will kick off with a live event available for viewing on YouTube.

Care to the Core is part of a longstanding tradition where the district celebrates various initiatives to make our schools welcoming, safe spaces for all students.

Each school will host an event or activity related to that theme.  Events focus on spreading kindness, combating bullying, and/or improving student mental health. Year round, district schools run a variety of programs that help students learn to avoid or resolve conflicts, improve their social-emotional learning and mental health, and include other students in their play.

At 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 16, the district will live stream game-day style program highlighting some of those initiatives and some of the school activities planned for Care to the Core.  Community members will be able to watch the show live that morning or on demand later on the district’s YouTube channel.

October is also National Bullying Prevention Month.
