The Dearborn Public Schools City Wide Art show returns to the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in April 2025.
The event will start with a special opening reception on April 1, 2025 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The event is open to the public. Student artwork will remain on display in the Padzieski Art Gallery in the Center through May 3. The gallery is open Wednesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. The Center is at 15801 Michigan Ave., Dearborn.
The City Wide Art Show is a longstanding spring tradition in Dearborn, a collaboration between the district and the City of Dearborn. Art teachers from across Dearborn Public Schools select pieces of student artwork to have displayed at the show, highlighting student artists in kindergarten through high school. Exhibits will include both two-dimensional and three dimensional work created from a variety of mediums. Some talented high school artists will also have special features. Those students include Nesreen Husseini from Virtual K-12; Amina Bazzi and Maria Alashwal from the Berry Career Center; Neveen Haidar from Dearborn High; Amani Mukbel and Mia Morabito from Edsel Ford High; and Katie Hetherington and Sunen Aljawad from Fordson High. Videos featuring the different high school artists will be posted on the district’s YouTube Channel.
Besides the opening reception, the public is also invited to two Saturday events for student art demonstrations in the gallery. These will occur on April 12 from noon to 2 p.m. and April 26 from 6 to 8 p.m.
