The WDHS Film Festival returns on May 16 and 17 with five award winning student films.
The festival starts at 6:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are $10 at the door or $7 in purchased online in advance.
Students won Best of Show this year at the Michigan Student Film Festival for their public service announcement “Speak Up Stay Together Stay Safe.”
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded the school four regional Student Production Awards. This is Dearborn High’s third year in a row winning for best sound. These movies will continue on to the national competition.
Student Jacob Head won his fourth Production Award, tying the school record.
The winning projects will be shown at the film festival. They include:

Best fiction – Long Form winner “Death in the Family” – Jacob Head, Executive Producer, Noah Almashkur, Producer.
Best music video winner “Feeling Good” – Jesse Good, Producer, Evelyn Tavarez, Talent, Maria Foley, Talent, Kolton Abbott, Talent, Ameena Toumi, Talent
Best editor winner “WDHS Festival Trailer” – Mohammed Almaliki, Editor
Best audio/sound winner “The Silent Assassin” – Kolton Abbott, Sound, Fadel Aljaber, Sound.
