Board training session set for Nov. 3

The Dearborn Public Schools Board of Education has scheduled a board training session for Monday, Nov. 3 to begin reviewing the process for selecting a new superintendent for the district.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. and include a conversation with a representative from the Michigan Association of School Boards to talk about how to conduct the search. The special meeting will be held at the district’s Administrative Service Center, 18700 Audette St., Dearborn in Room 12.

The public is welcome to attend. Board training sessions and retreats are not videotaped or streamed.

It has been 10 years since the Board of Education conducted a superintendent search, and only one trustee from that time remains on the board.

Superintendent Glenn Maleyko is leaving Dearborn Public Schools to become the next State Superintendent of Public Instruction and will be overseeing the Michigan Department of Education.  His last day working in Dearborn is in December.
