Parents interested in switching their child into a high-quality, local virtual school for the 2026-27 school year are invited to an online orientation for Dearborn Schools Virtual K-12 on March 27, 2026.
Dearborn Virtual K-12 provides an online only education for students in first grade through high school. The program is run by Dearborn Public Schools, and district teachers follow the district’s curriculum and calendar. Students do occasionally need to attend in person for testing, and parents will need to periodically pick up supplies.
Students from across Wayne County are welcome to attend Dearborn Virtual K-12. Those who are not already enrolled in the district would need to enroll in Dearborn Public Schools.
High school students in Virtual K-12 are also allowed to participate in other district academic programs, including dual enrollment and the Henry Ford Collegiate Academy, both of which provide free college classes for high school students. College classes, all offered through Henry Ford College, may require in-person attendance. Advanced Placement classes are also available.
Virtual K-12 students graduate with a diploma from the Dearborn Public School District, which is accredited by Cognia Global Commission. The district has a 95 percent graduation rate and 80 percent of students go on to attend college within a year of graduation.
